I was using my foam roller at the gym today, grimacing when it hit a hot spot, and a woman who was doing her stretches asked, "Is running worth it?" I had to laugh at the situation. "Absolutely" I replied, convinced that her opinion of me might have gone down a few notches at that moment.
I have had a series of lucky draws. Recently I won a Princeton tech head lamp in a drawing Gary Robbins did...if you haven't watched the video, you really ought to.
Today I recieved an email from the Royal Victoria Marathon Assoc letting me know that I had won two free entries to their Oct Marathon in addition to two nights accomodation and ferrry trip out there...AWESOME!!!! And it showed up in my inbox less than an hour after I registered for the race online. They offered to comp me the reg fee however. I will be bringing my lovely runner mother along for the trip...anyone else planning to attend?

How much money did you save when they gave you the free entries? Is the hotel nice? That is pretty sweet to find out almost immediately after you entered the race.
Gary- I would love to see a friendly face in a savage foreign land...especially if the face likes beer and pizza after a race as much as I do.
Coach- Not sure about the hotel accom yet, they are mailing me all the info soon...the race entries were $90 a piece.
